UISD Dyslexia Program Recognized & Dyslexia Awareness Festival Announced

(Laredo, Texas)- Representatives of United ISD’s Dyslexia Program were honored last week by City of Laredo Mayor Pete Saenz. Joining Mayor Saenz are Executive Director for School Improvement Melissa Y. Cruz, Section 504 and Dyslexia Program Coordinator Brenda Benavides, Dyslexia Coordinator Marissa Perez and District Dyslexia educators.
The group also announced the upcoming United ISD Parent Dyslexia Awareness Festival set for October 21 at the Student Activity Complex from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will be free and open to United ISD parents wanting to know more about how to help their child with dyslexia.
