CBP Officers Seize $190K in Cocaine at Lincoln-Juarez Bridge

LAREDO, Texas –U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at Lincoln-Juarez Bridge this weekend seized more than $190,000 in cocaine hidden in a vehicle.
“This seizure underscores the steadfast commitment of our frontline officers to carrying out our border security mission and preventing narcotics from reaching our streets,” said Port Director Gregory Alvarez, Laredo Port of Entry.
The seizure occurred on Aug. 14 at Lincoln-Juarez Bridge. A CBP officer referred a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup driven by a 36-year-old male U.S. citizen from Laredo, Texas for a secondary inspection. CBP officers conducted a thorough examination and utilizing all resources discovered 10 bundles containing a total of 24.64 pounds of cocaine hidden within the truck. The narcotics have an estimated street value of $190,060.
CBP officers arrested the driver and tuned him over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents for further investigation.
