The Webb County Better Community Foundation Awards Scholarships to Students

LAREDO, Texas – The Webb County Better Community Foundation (WCBCF) awarded an academic collegiate scholarship to local high school seniors during a special ceremony held at the Webb County 49th District Court Room on Monday, June, 13, 2016.
The foundation reviewed hundreds of applicants from every high school. The recipients chosen were students who demonstrated a commitment to excellence throughout their high school career in academics, athletics, extracurricular activities as well as community involvement. The $1,000 scholarship will aid high school seniors with financial assistance to students wanting to pursue a college degree in any field.
This is the second year the WCBCF provides a scholarship opportunity to students.
The following students were the scholarship recipients:

Adrian Gaytan Jr., LBJ High School
Emilio Fernandez, United High School
Ashley Marie Cantu, Martin High School
Krisela Salinas, Zapata High School
Leslie Jazmin Izaguirre, Cigarroa High School
Jada Janay Joy Cantu, Early College High School
