Webb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Arrest Two on Multiple Charges

Laredo, TX (Webb County) – Webb County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two Rio Bravo men on charges of reckless driving, evading arrest with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, evading on foot, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, and smuggling of a person, 2 counts each.
The ordeal started as the deputies were dispatched to a theft in progress in the 1800 block of Margarita Lane in Rio Bravo. The complainant stated that five subjects in a black Ford Expedition were stealing a battery from a vehicle.
Minutes afterwards, deputies spotted the suspects, and following a short pursuit, they arrested Francisco Dellanes, 28, of the 1600 block of Margarita Lane, and Alberto Bernal, 19, of the 1500 block of Centeno Lane, both of Rio Bravo.
Deputies made contact with Border Patrol agents, who stated they had apprehended two other men, who reported they were going to get picked by Dellanes and Bernal.
Dellanes faces charges for reckless driving, evading arrest with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, evading on foot, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, and smuggling of a person, 2 counts each and is being held on $96,750 bond. Bernal also remains at the Webb County Jail in lieu of a $21,000 bond and is being charged with resisting arrest, theft and smuggling of a person, 2 counts each.
