(Laredo, Texas)-United ISD hosted a press conference to announce PROM Project 2016. The project is dedicated to collecting formal dress attire, new or gently used, to make sure all UISD high school students have the opportunity to go to their prom affordably, with confidence and in style. Over 60 dresses have been collected and ready to distribute to our students.
A special thanks to one of UISD’s prom sponsors of many years, Mr. Carlos Salinas from Charlie’s Angel’s Beauty Salon and Spafor donating Hair-do’s, makeup and facial’s to our students. Also, a big thank you to Enchanted Bohemian’s Women’s Clothing Store (www.enchantedbojo.com) for donating the first 50 new dresses.
Individuals have an opportunity to donate formal dress attire to students who may not have the means to purchase in order to attend prom. The UISD Prom Project will continue through the end of April. You may drop off items to United ISD’S Main Office at 201 Lindenwood Dr., Laredo, Texas. For additional information please call UISD’s Office of Communications with Ms. Rosie Cruz at 473-633.
