W.C.S.O. investigation leads to wanted murder suspect

Laredo, TX (Webb County) – Information obtained by the Webb County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of a local man wanted for a murder investigation.

On Thursday, W.C.S.O. Investigators received a tip through the Crime Stoppers tip line alerting them to wanted suspect, Alexis Guzman, 18. Guzman was wanted for a murder that happened on January 7, 2016. Sheriff’s Office investigators followed the lead which led them to the 3800 block of Juarez. Due to an open investigation, details gathered were turned over to the Laredo Police Department.

“We applaud the community’s efforts in helping us track down this wanted individual,” said Sheriff Martin Cuellar.” The Webb County Sheriff’s Office and Laredo Police Department were able to work together and ensure his arrest.”

Guzman was arrested and charged with two felonies, Murder and Burglary of Habitation. He remains at the Webb County Jail on a $1 Million bond.
