United ISD Invites Parents, Community to Public Hearing on Texas Academic Performance Report

(Laredo, Texas)-The United Independent School District invites the public to attend the Annual Texas Academic Performance Report Hearing to be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the Student Activity Complex Auditorium located at 5208 Santa Claudia Lane. The meeting will present data from the Texas Academic Performance Report, referred to as the TAPR. This information is gathered by the Texas Education Agency and details student performance in every school in the District and in public schools across the State. District administrators will present information on all United ISD schools at this meeting.
“All parents and community members are invited to attend this public hearing,” said United ISD Superintendent Roberto J. Santos. “Individuals who attend will learn how United ISD strives each day to provide a first-rate academic program to all students in our District,” he continued.
Among the items that will be discussed at the meeting are: results of state-mandated exams, attendance rates, competition rates, college readiness indicators, completion of Advanced/Dual Enrollment Courses, completion of the Recommended High School Program or Distinguished Achievement Program, participation and performance on Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations, Texas Success Initiative (TSI) – Higher Education Readiness Component, Participation and Performance on the College Admissions Tests (SAT and ACT), and College-Ready Graduates, among other information.
