(Laredo, Texas)-Texas A&M University Colonias Program asked the United South High School Cheerleaders and Silver Steppers, as well as Superior HealthPlan and Cub Scout Troop 424 to be part of the Colonias Cristmas Shoebox Project for this year. Through the help of the groups, Christmas gifts were given to over 250 children from the rural Colonias of HWY 359. Families of this area are especially financially and economically disadvantaged and live in area that don’t have running water, sewage systems and/or electricity.
Texas A&M University Colonias Program works on building stronger Texas communities through partnerships to help bring help to those in need. Pictured are the proud donors and volunteers of this project.
