Laredo, TX (Webb County) – Dozens of local motorcyclists took a stand and joined the Webb County Sheriff’s Office in the first annual “Brake” the Silence and Ride Against Domestic Violence motorcycle run, on Saturday.
The community made it clear that they will not tolerate Domestic Violence as more than 60 motorcyclists participated. The purpose of the motorcycle ride was to not only bring awareness to domestic violence but also show support for the victims and their families. This event coincided with the month of October which was proclaimed as Domestic Violence Awareness month in Webb County.
The motorcycle run rolled out from Laredo Harley Davidson Shop to IH-35 mile marker 18 and ended at Lake Casa Blanca State Park. The first 80 motorcyclists who pre-registered received a free commemorative t-shirt.
All funds raised from the Motorcycle Run will benefit victims of Domestic Violence and their families.
