(Laredo, Texas)-The Webb County Attorney’s Office, in collaboration with the United I.S.D. Police Department and a Multi-Agency Law Enforcement Task Force, conducted a random search at United South High School this morning.
This sweep was done to insure identification and elimination of illegal drugs or weapons on campus. During this time, the school was in “stay in place” mode, meaning that students, faculty and staff members remained in their designated classroom/designated areas until the search was finished. Individuals were not allowed inside the campus or leave the building.
At the conclusion of the sweep, NO weapons were found at the campus and only a small amount of illegal substances were found.
The Webb County Attorney’s Office has been conducting these random sweeps at campuses since last year in an effort to keep all educational environments safe for students.
Each sweep is well-coordinated and with all local, state, federal law enforcement entities.
