Sheriff’s Office deputies seize cash, 68 pounds of marijuana

Laredo, TX – A local man was sent to the Webb County Jail Saturday after Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigators discovered 68.7 pounds of marijuana and $2,100 in U.S. currency at his home.
Juan Ronald Ramirez-Ortiz, 36, was charged with possession of marijuana. The marijuana, which was being stored approximately two blocks from a middle school, has an estimated street value of $416,940.
Sheriff Martin Cuellar lauded the work of the investigators and reminds the community about reporting suspicious activities to 956-727- TIPS (8477). All calls remain anonymous and should the call result in an arrest, the caller may be eligible for a monetary reward.
