Lemurs Get Swept in Doubleheader and Series

St. Paul 2, Laredo 1 (Game 1 – 7 Innings) – Box
St. Paul starting pitcher Robert Coe tossed a nice game in the Saints 2-1 win over the Laredo Lemurs in game one of the doubleheader. Coe went six solid innings giving up an earned run on two hits and striking out three batters. St. Paul reliever Ryan Rodebaugh allowed a hit in 2/3 of an inning and notched his second save of the season. The Saints scored both of their runs in the second inning on RBI singles by C Vince DiFazio and SS Anthony Phillips. DiFazio and Phillips each went 1-for-3 in the game. Lemurs Manager Pete Incaviglia was tossed out of the game in sixth inning for arguing.
St. Paul 8, Laredo 0 (Game 2 – 7 Innings) – Box
It was all St. Paul in this one as the Saints downed the Laredo Lemurs 8-0 and completed the sweep of the doubleheader. The St. Paul 4-5 hitters of DH Ian Gac and RF Mike Kvasnicka went a combined 6-for-8 at the plate with two doubles, four runs scored and a RBI. Saints C Joey Paciorek and SS Anthony Phillips drove in two runs apiece while 3B Steve Nikorak plated two runs. St. Paul starting pitcher Pedro Hernandez notched the victory as he gave up two walks and three hits in five innings of work.
The Lemurs are now 3-7 on the year with the Lincoln Saltdogs coming to visit Uni-Trade Stadium for a three game series starting on Monday at 7:30pm. Monday’s promotion is Margarita Monday with $2.00 Margaritas on sale.
