Laredo, TX – The Laredo Lemurs (20-16) left fielder Luke Bailey singled up the middle to drive in two runs in the bottom of the ninth to give his team a 4-3 walk-off win against the Grand Prairie AirHogs (13-22) on Sunday night at Uni-Trade Stadium.

At the start of the game, it was a back-and-forth matchup between the Lemurs and the AirHogs.  The Lemurs scored a run in the first, but then the AirHogs scored a run in the second to tie the game at one.  The Lemurs scored a run in the bottom of the third to take a 2-1 lead and the AirHogs returned the favor by scoring two runs and taking a 3-2 lead.

The 3-2 lead for the AirHogs would hold up as the Lemurs went scoreless from the fourth through the eighth.  In the bottom of the ninth Zach Dando took the mound for the AirHogs and faced Juan Silverio, who earned a walk.  Brian Peterson would lay down a sac-bunt and the ball was fielded by the second baseman Jamodrick McGruder, who threw the ball past first and into the Lemurs dugout, putting Peterson at second and Silverio at third.  Ty Forney replaced Peterson at second as a pinch runner.  Luke Bailey then stepped to the plate and hit a 1-2 pitch up the middle to score the two runners and give the Lemurs the walk-off 4-3 win.

AirHogs reliever Zach Dando took the loss giving up two hits and two runs with a walk.

Luis De La Cruz earned the win for the Lemurs as he pitched the top of the ninth with a walk and a strikeout.

With the win, the Lemurs win the four-game series three games to one.  The Lemurs will welcome in the first-place Joplin Blasters Monday with the Lemurs trailing by two and a half games in the division.  Game times for all four with the Blasters are set for 7:30pm.
