United Independent School District’s Community Role Models for May 2015

(Laredo, Texas) – On May 28, 2015 , the Webb County Sheriff’s Office and the Elysian Social Club honored Community Role Models from Laredo’s public and private high schools with an awards ceremony and lunch at Salon Chapa.
Four UISD students were among the honorees who received the monthly recognition, which is based on extra-curricular activities and volunteer work above and beyond the classroom setting. Additional sponsors of the Community Role Model Awards include KGNS-TV, ABC network affiliate NGNS (ABC), and Telemundo Laredo. All honorees received a $500.00 scholarship, courtesy of the Elysian Social Club.
Receiving the honors were Jordy Alan Velazquez, L.B.J. High School and
Nayra Rangel, United South High School.
