Two United South Students Take National and Top Titles at Powerlifting Meet

(Laredo, Texas)-United South High School senior Rudy Flores competed at the USA Power Lifting Mens Nationals meet on Sunday in San Antonio. He was crowned “National Champion” in his division with lifts of 821 lbs squat, 584 lbs bench press and 683 lbs deadlift for a winning total of 2,088 lbs.
He has already been extended an invitation to represent the USA in Prague, Czech Republic at the World Powerlifting Championships in August.
United South High School freshmen Tammy Idrogo also competed on Friday and placed second in her division. She had a combined total of 617 lbs. She finishes with the silver medal at her first USA Power Lifting Womens Nationals meet.
