LAREDO, TEXAS – The Laredo Logistics and Manufacturing Association (LMA) is hosting its first annual LMA Benefit Cancer Golf Outing to be held May 16th, 2015 at The Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course in Laredo, TX.
According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), more than 1.6 million people in the United States were diagnosed with cancer during 2014. In December 2014, Anita Ramirez, LMA Board Member was diagnosed with breast cancer. The LMA and its Board of Directors are putting together this event to bring people together for an afternoon health awareness and golf, all to benefit those fighting cancer.
The format for the outing is a 2-man scramble with shot-gun start at 1pm. The cost per player is $70 and includes range balls, golf, and meal afterwards. This year, all proceeds from the event will benefit Anita Ramirez, LMA Board Member.
The public is invited to The Max for an afternoon of golf and Cancer awareness. Booths will be set up from various Health and Cancer organizations with information related to health and cancer prevention. Those that do not wish to play golf can enjoy the view of the Rio Grande on the second floor of the clubhouse. To support the cause, LMA is asking for everyone to dress in pink (breast cancer)and teal (ovarian cancer).
