Kennedy-Zapata Elementary Announces Honor Society Inductees for 2015

    NEHSOn May 20, 2015, Kennedy-Zapata Elementary School held a special ceremony to welcome 43 students (in grades 3-5), into the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS). Webb County Judge Tano Tijerina led the students through an induction pledge as proud parents and school staff looked on. The National Elementary Honor Society is one of the most prestigious honors that can be awarded to an elementary student.       

The society honors students who have excelled in five areas: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Citizenship, and Character. The aforementioned are determined through student activities, volunteering, and teacher evaluations.

   Principal Thelma J. Martinez said that ahe was very proud of the new inductees. “I would like to extend congratulations to our parents and family members. Their support is invaluable because they play a key role in the social, personal and academic development of the students “, said Martinez.
