(Laredo, Texas)-As it does every year, Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) will gather as a community to remember fallen alumni, students, faculty and staff at the fifth annual “Celebration of Life” memorial observation Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.
This event provides members of the expansive TAMIU community an opportunity to remember alumni, students, faculty and staff who have passed away in the past year, to celebrate their lives, and to move forward together.
The University’s sponsoring Office of Alumni Relations is encouraging all those who have lost a TAMIU student, staff, faculty or alumni member to be part of the event.
“It is a touching service which celebrates and memorializes the lives of people who have been part of the TAMIU family. The sound of bagpipes fill the air throughout the reading of the honor roll and a bell is chimed as each honoree’s name is recited,” explained Yelitza Howard, TAMIU ‘s director of Alumni Relations.
After the service, a reception will be held for family and friends in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts main lobby.
University representatives will be present to help answer questions on how guests can commemorate their loved ones further at TAMIU, she noted.
