Isidro R. Alaniz Jr. to Attend West Point Military Academy

(Laredo, Texas)-Isidro R. Alaniz Jr., a senior at United High School, accepted his appointment to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point***. Alaniz, a nominee of United States Congressman Henry Cuellar, District 28, is in the United High School Engineering Magnet Program, a member of the National Honor Society, and will graduate in the top 10 percent of his class this spring.
Alaniz also plays for the United Longhorn Football Team and is active in various community-based programs that help raise funds for non-profit organizations that serve children and the less fortunate. Although he received admission into various state universities, Isidro’s desire is to serve his country by attending the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, which has a less than a nine percent acceptance rate. “I consider it a great honor to have the opportunity and privilege to serve and protect my country by attending this prestigious institution” said Alaniz Jr., who is the son of Mr. Isidro R. Alaniz and Mrs. Elia P. Alaniz .
