(Laredo, Tx)-United I.S.D’s 26th Annual Science Fair was held at the SAC complex on February 27, 2015. This year’s combined total of 216 students competed for recognition and trophies in a diverse range of categories, including Chemistry, Environmental, and Earth Science, Behavioral & Social Science, Physical Science, Biology, Biochemistry and Health. The highly competitive event gives middle and high school students an opportunity to display and explain their projects to a panel of judges that includes local professors, nurses, physicians and engineers.
The winner of the final round in the middle school category was Trautmann Middle School (TMS), student David Hinojosa. His project was entitled Soil Porosity, Sand Pebbles and Clay.
This year’s Grand Champion in the high school category was Alexander High School (AHS), student Linda Marie Santos. Her project was entitled 3-D Electrical Cast. Linda will represent United I.S.D. at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburg Pa. on May 10-15, 2015. Congratulations to all of our students for a job well done!
