Webb County Sheriff’s Deputies arrest man on several charges

Laredo, TX (Webb County) – An early morning traffic stop on Saturday led to the arrest of a Laredoan suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and narcotics.
When Webb County Sheriff Deputies attempted to stop a Ford Taurus at the intersection of Bob Bullock Loop and Clark St., they saw the suspect threw out several baggies containing a white substance. The driver was identified as Jorge Jimenez, 22, from the 1400 block of Louisiana Avenue. Upon speaking with the suspect, deputies noticed a strong smell of alcohol emitting from Jimenez who admitted to drinking several beers and refused a breathalyzer test.
A further inspection of his vehicle revealed another small clear plastic baggie with cocaine. Deputies were also able to recover the 5 baggies he threw out the window.
Jimenez faces charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Evidence and DWI Refusal. He was remanded to the Webb County Jail and later released on a $21,000 bond.
