Award Sweep for UHS Magnet Robotics Team

(Laredo, Tx)- During the month of November, students from the United Engineering Technology Magnet Team (UETM), directed by Magnet teacher Laura M. Rodriguez, earned several award recognitions during tri-state competition held in Garland,Texas. The team competed against 60 advancing challengers from throughout Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Overall, the team ranked as follows:
-1st Place Lockheed Martin Form Factor Award. This award is given to the robot that best completes the task in the game and recognizes excellence in the fit and trim of external components and aesthetic embellishments.
-2nd Place Spirit and Sportsmanship
-6th Place BEST overall out of 60 teams
-7th Place Engineering Presentation
-14th Place Engineering Notebook
-24th Place in Robot Tournament
26th Place Exhibit and Interview
