(Laredo, Tx)-Veterans Day is intended to honor and thank all military personnel who served the United States in all wars, particularly living veterans. Veterans day is a special day that is marked by parades, memorable ceremonies and assemblies. Trautmann Middle School did just that, celebrated and honored veterans, for their patriotism, love of country, willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
Veterans were family and community members of the students of Trautmann Middle School. Amongst the 100 U.S. Veterans honored was special guest Captain, J. J. Trevino, a 38 year U. S. Veteran, who served in military service in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and National Guard. His extensive military service includes The Korean Conflict, three years in Vietnam, the Airborne Division and service in Central America. In his civilian life, he continued to serve the community as a Police Officer, Detective Agent, and Bridge Inspector. The celebration lineup included performances by the 8th grade History classes, TMS Short Horn Band, Cheerleaders, Lasso Dance Team and United High School ROTC. This eventful ceremony was organized by, Mr. J.C. Rodriguez, Social Studies Department Chair of Trautmann Middle School.
