(Laredo, Tx)-On Thursday October 16, Webb County Court at Law #2 will hold the first graduation ceremony for the participants of the Misdemeanor DWI Court Program. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the DWI Court team members, 12 participants will be honored at the County Court at Law #2 courtroom on 1110 Victoria St., 4th floor. In attendance will be Webb County District Attorney’s Office, Webb County Public Defender’s Office, Adult Probation Office, SCAN, and the participants’ families.
Without the support of these departments, the DWI Court Program would be difficult, if not impossible for the participants to complete. The primary goal of this program is to reduce risk to the community by engaging 1st time DWI offenders with an intensive educational, community supervision, and counseling program.
This program is designed as an early intervention program for individuals who may have a dependence to alcohol. The program promotes safe driving habits and provides counseling and treatment services to individuals who are diagnosed with alcohol dependence.
