Laredo, TX – The Webb County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Unit seized more than half a million dollars worth of narcotics on Wednesday.

The drug seizure, which occurred around 4 p.m. at a known stash home in the 800 block of Fremont Street in central Laredo, comes as a result of an on-going investigation. Sheriff’s Office investigators found the marijuana wrapped in 44 bundles that were ready to be distributed in our community. The narcotics, weighing close to 500 pounds, have an estimated street value of $639,900.

A 2001 Dodge pick-up truck was also seized during this on-going investigation, where arrests are pending.

“It’s evident that the drug dealers continue to use homes in our neighborhoods to distribute drugs in our community,” said Sheriff Martin Cuellar. “Over the past year, we’ve seen an increase in drug seizures and in particular these stash homes.”

Sheriff Cuellar reminds the community to report suspicious activity by calling 727-TIPS (8477).
