Laredo, TX (Webb County) – Webb County Sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday arrested the second man involved in a stabbing early Saturday morning, where the suspects claimed to work for a cartel.

The second suspect who is a Honduran national had been evading authorities. He is identified as Joel Geovanny Carcamo Herrera, 27.

The arrests stems from the early morning stabbing on Saturday at a home on Barrera Road in the San Carlos subdivision, where the victim was stabbed in the back and also suffered a minor abrasion to his head. The victim told authorities that Carcamo Herrera and the first suspect, Carlos Alberto Flores entered his property wearing a ski mask and claiming to work for a cartel. That’s when a fight broke out and the suspects stabbed the victim with a knife. During the scuffle, the victim was able to unmask Flores whom he identified as his neighbor. Flores who also claimed to be a police officer was arrested Saturday afternoon and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Impersonating a Public Servant.

Carcamo Herrera is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Felony 2. He was taken to the Webb County Jail where he remains in custody.
