Sheriff’s Deputies arrest woman; two teens found in trunk

Laredo, TX (Webb County) – A traffic stop by the Webb County Sheriff’s Office Thursday evening led to the arrest of a woman on charges of Endangering a Child.
Shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday, a Sheriff Deputy patrolling the 200 block of Malaga in the Santa Rita subdivision noticed a silver Ford 500 with an excessive number of passengers. That’s when the deputy pulled the vehicle over driven by Benita Gonzalez, 36. Upon further investigation, the deputy found two additional passengers in the trunk of the car without proper ventilation. The driver stated that she was coming from a soccer game and the two 13-year-old girls did not fit in the vehicle.
Gonzalez was arrested and charged with two counts of Endangering a Child. She was released from the Webb County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
