Vehicular chase leads Sheriff’s deputies to 53 pounds of marijuana

Laredo, TX (Webb County) — A vehicular chase in South Laredo by Webb County Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday evening led them to 53 pounds of marijuana. The chase, initiated near the Rio Bravo-El Cenizo area, ended up with six subjects abandoning a 1999 Expedition and then jumping into the river to Mexico near the South Laredo rest area.
The marijuana, found in three bundles, has an estimated street value of $26,500.
While the investigation is ongoing, Sheriff Martin Cuellar reminds the community that if you know the whereabouts of these individuals, please call Laredo Crime Stoppers at 956-727-TIPS (8477). Any information leading to an arrest could result in a reward of up to $1,000.
