Winnipeg 12, Amarillo 2
The Winnipeg Goldeyes exploded for 12 runs against Amarillo and limited the Sox to just two runs to grab a 12-2 victory. Winnipeg actually held the Sox to zero runs for eight innings before the Sox got in the board with two in the bottom of the ninth.
Winnipeg’s offensive performance was fueled by 18 hits that included home runs from CF Reggie Abercrombie, 1B Josh Mazzola and 3B Ryan Pineda–all of which were their first long balls of the season. SS Tyler Kuhn went 3-6 with two runs out of the leadoff spot and LF Ray Sadler was 4-6 out of the three-hole with three runs and three RBI.
Matthew Jackson started on the mound for the Goldeyes and tossed 6.1 shutout innings. He scattered four hits while striking out five and walking just one.
Sioux City 10, Sioux Falls 2
The Sioux City Explorers bounced back from Friday’s loss to Sioux Falls and beat the Canaries 10-2 Saturday night. The scoring came early and often for the Explorers, as they managed runs in the first three innings to jump to a quick 6-1 lead, which they never came close to giving up.
The Explorers totaled 16 hits in this one as 2B Andres Perez and 3B Mark Sobolewski led the way out of the three and four spots, with 3-5 and 4-5 performances respectively.
On the mound, the Explorers got an eight-inning effort from winning pitcher John Straka, who allowed just two runs and seven hits. Straka struck out five batters and walked none before handing the game off to Alex Pagano, who’s shutout ninth inning sealed the deal for Sioux City.
Kansas City 6, Lincoln 2
The Kansas City T-Bones took down the Lincoln Saltdogs with a final score of 6-2. The T-Bones got the scoring started with a two-run second inning before striking again for two runs in the fourth and adding two more insurance runs in the seventh and eighth innings.
RF Bryan Sabatella and CF Robby Kuzdale each had multi-hit games for Kansas City, going 2-3 and 2-4 respectively. LF TJ Mittlestaedt went hitless, but managed to score two runs after drawing two walks.
Pat Doyle started on the hill for the T-Bones and gave up nine hits over five innings, but let in just two runs to give help give Kansas City the win. He fanned two Saltdog batters and walked none.
St. Paul 6, Gary SouthShore 4
The St. Paul Saints used a four-run seventh inning to come from behind and take down the Gary SouthShore RailCats 6-4. After taking a 2-0 lead into the top of the sixth inning, the Saints watched Gary SouthShore score four runs an reclaim the lead. After blanking in the bottom of the frame, St. Paul bounced back with four of their own in the seventh and shut out of the RailCats the rest of the way.
1 and 2 hitters Brandon Wikoff (2B) and Joe Bonfe (3B) set the table for the Saints on the night, combining to go 6-8 with three runs and an RBI. But LF Evan Bigley turned out to be the difference-maker, as his lone hit turned out to be the four-run game winning homer in the seventh inning.
Relief pitcher Ryan Bollinger picked up the win for St. Paul after throwing 1.2 shutout innings. He walked two and allowed one hit.
Grand Prairie 6, Wichita 3
The Grand Prairie AirHogs doubled up the Wichita Saturday, beating the Wingnuts 6-3.

Starting pitcher Brandon Bargas worked around five walks and four hits over his five innings of work and limited the Wingnuts to just a single run. He also struck out three batters in the outing.
