(Laredo, Tx)-United high school (U.H.S.) senior and soccer player Cesar Guerrero Jr. was beaming with Longhorn pride as he inscribed his name to a Letter of Intent from Texas A&M International University (TAMIU). The momentous occasion took place in the campus library, where Cesar was accompanied by his family, teammates, coaches and U.H.S. administrators. Cesar has played varsity soccer at U.H.S since his freshman year, and was recently named Most Valuable Player.
Coach Mario Gonzalez described Cesar as an outstanding athlete and A.P. student. “It was great a pleasure to coach this bright young man for the past four years. He’s taken our program to the next level, and I know he’s going to shine in everything he does at TAMIU”, said Gonzalez. Cesar plans to obtain a degree in Criminal Justice and anticipates the academic and athletic challenges that lie ahead. “I want to thank my parents and all of my coaches for their support. Attending college and playing soccer at TAMIU is going to be great”, said Guerrero.
