UISD Receives Check from Webb County Land Fund

(Laredo, Tx)-Webb County officials presented a check in the amount of $571,770.00 to United I.S.D. The money is from the Permanent School Land Fund, which is an arrangement that permits Webb County to act as a land trustee for all three school districts in the county. A majority of the revenues are derived from petroleum royalties, cattle grazing and hunting leases on 10,000 acres of school land located in the northern part of Webb County. The check presentation ceremony was held in the Webb County Commissioners Court on February 14, 2014.
