United ISD Receives $10,000 Donation from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas

(Laredo, Tx)-Last Friday, representatives from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas presented a check for $10,000 to the United Independent School District for their “Let’s Move for Scholars” event. The check was given at a Health Awareness and Appreciation Luncheon held at Embassy Suites. Guest speaker was Dr. Esteban R. Lopez who is President of BCBSTX, San Antonio Region.
Dr. Lopez spoke about future initiatives the organization would like to bring to Laredo and Webb County. They also want to get more involved in community events such as the District’s “Let’s Move for Scholars” event which emphasizes overall health while raising monies for student scholarships.
