(Laredo, Tx)-The United Independent School District Board of Trustees and Superintendent Roberto J. Santos invite all to attend a public hearing on the academic progress of the District. The hearing will take place at 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 22 at the Bill Johnson Student Activity Complex Auditorium located at 5208 Santa Claudia Lane. The meeting will present data from the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) formerly known as the Academic Excellence Indicator System (or AEIS Report). TAPR information is gathered by the Texas Education Agency and is disseminated to all Texas public school districts. The report details student academic performance in all UISD schools.
“It’s an informative session and I encourage all parents and community members to join us to see how UISD strives each day to make the academic success of each student our number one priority,” UISD Superintendent Roberto J. Santos said.
Items that will be discussed at the meeting are: results of state-mandated exams, attendance rates, competition rates, college readiness indicators, completion of Advanced/Dual Enrollment Courses, completion of the Recommended High School Program or Distinguished Achievement Program, participation and performance on Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations, among other information.
