Mayor Salinas Meets with Mexican Ambassador

(Laredo, Tx)-City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas and City of Brownsville Mayor Antonio “Toni” Martinez met with Mexican Ambassador to the United States Eduardo Medina-Mora. Mayor Salinas and Ambassador Medina-Mora were present for a program to highlight the level of trade between the two countries which Ambassador Medina-Mora announced now exceeds $1 million a minute. In his formal remarks to the U. S. Conference of Mayors. Ambassador Medina-Mora highlighted the vital role that Laredo plays in the economy of North America.
Joining the mayors and Ambassador Medina-Mora was Tom Cochran, the CEO and Executive Director of the United States Conference of Mayors. Mayor Salinas and Ambassador Medina-Mora also spoke about their excitement of high speed rail connection between San Antonio-Laredo and Monterrey.
“It is these type of connections that make the U.S. Conference of Mayors a great opportunity to meet and connect with leaders throughout the United States,” said Mayor Salinas.
