LULAC COUNCIL DIST. 14 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

Lulac Council District 14 announced the winners of an essay writing contest which was open to high school students in the community. Students were asked to write about the importance of education. The top two winning essays received a scholarship to assist with books and tuition to college.
The students, with the winning essays were: Corina Carranza, senior at Alexander High School and David Kunkle, senior at Nixon High School. The two students who received honorable mention for their essay entries were: San Juana Sanmaniego, senior at Lyndon B. Johnson High School and Jorge Frada, senior at Nixon High School. Representatives of Lulac Council District 14, United and Laredo ISD’s were on hand to congratulate the students at a special recognition ceremony held in the United ISD Boardroom.
