William Henry Johnson sentenced to life in prison

The office of the District Attorney reports a guilty verdict for William Henry Johnson. On February 17, 2012 William Henry Johnson, who is originally from Phoenix, Arizona, shot 39-year-old Clarence Bruce Krusen, north of the city at the 14700 block of Atlanta Drive. Johnson shot Krusen to death and seriously wounded Roberto Rodriguez around 8:30 am at ATC Forwarding Agency. Johnson was charged with murder, a first-degree felony and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony.
The five-day murder trial involved several witnesses including key eye witnesses and several Laredo Police Department officers and investigators. His trial began with a jury selection on Monday before the 49th District Court Judge Jose Lopez.
Today, the State and Defense presented closing arguments shortly after 9 am. The jury deliberated for four hours and found the defendant guilty of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The jury began deliberating for the punishment phase after 5 pm and sentenced him to life in prison for murder and 70 years for aggravated assault. The sentences will run concurrent with each other.
Assistant District Attorney’s Johnathan Garcia, Jorge Vela and Juan R. Flores prosecuted the case for the State.
