United ISD’s 3rd Annual Let’s Move for Scholars Event To Raise Scholarship Funds and Promote Healthy Lifestyles

(Laredo, Tx)- If health and fitness are among your resolutions for the New Year, then the United Independent School District invites you to join them at the 3rd Annual Let’s Move for Scholars event to be held January 11, 2014 at the Johnson Student Activity Complex located at 5208 Santa Claudia Lane. Participants can choose to participate in the 5K run, mile walk, or Zumbathon. The event will feature a free health fair that will be open to all registered participants. Proceeds from the event will benefit United ISD students to receive scholarships to college.
“The start of the new year is a perfect time for us to host this event,” said United ISD Superintendent Roberto J. Santos. “This event helps us raise funds for scholarships while highlight the importance of good overall health,” added Santos.
Early registration for the run and walk is $20 by December 18, 2013. Registration forms and payment can be turned in at the United ISD Central Office located at 201 Lindenwood Drive. On-site registration for the run and walk will be $25. Registration for the zumbathon is $15 and will be taught by master zumba instructors. Registration for each of these events includes a t-shirt and goody bag.
