(Laredo, Tx)-On December 12, the Webb County Sheriff’s Department’s Deputy Santa program brought holiday merriment into the lives of 160 UISD elementary school students with a holiday party at the Peter Piper’s Pizza location on Guadalupe street. Each student received four game tokens, a pizza lunch and a gift from Santa and the Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff Martin Cuellar said that funds for the Deputy Santa project were raised by his deputies. “We held a series of bucket brigades during the last couple of months and the public was very generous with their donations. All of us enjoy giving back to the community and the students” , said Cuellar. Students from nine UISD elementary schools enjoyed this year’s Deputry Santa party.
