David Garcia Pleads Guilty Before Trial Begins

(Laredo, Tx)-David Garcia, 34, has plead guilty to two charges before the 406th District Judge Oscar Hale Jr. on the day he was to stand trial. Garcia plead guilty pursuant to a plea agreement to one count of assault causing bodily injury, a class a misdemeanor and one count of assault on a family member by impeding breath, a third-degree felony.
Garcia was arrested on September 1, 2011 for several sexual encounters with a child under the age of 17 without the child’s consent that occurred between January and May of 2011.
In exchange for his guilty plea, Garcia will serve one year for the assault causing bodily injury charge which will run concurrent with the eight years for the assault on a family member by impeding breath charge.
Garcia will be sentenced on January 13, 2014.
