Centeno Elementary Hosts 8th Annual “One for The Books” Campaign

(Laredo, Tx)-On December 3, 40 lucky Centeno elementary students participated in the school’s 8th annual One for the Books campaign. Centeno elementary graciously acknowledges the generosity of the A. R. “Tony” and Maria J. Sanchez Family Foundation, which provided each participating student with a $25 gift certificate for use in a book shopping spree held in the school library. Centeno Librarian Analine Johnson said that the students at her school look forward to the annual event.
”Our donor’s simple act of kindness brings more knowledge, adventure and humor into the lives of the students in our school, community and nation,” said Johnson.” Books enrich children’s lives and in the words of the National Education Association (N.E.A.) “kids who read and are read to, help build great public schools, she concluded.”
