U.I.S.D. Wellness Screenings Good for District

(Laredo, Tx)-Representatives from Laurel Insurance, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Catapult Health hosted a press conference on August 15 to discuss the results of the 2013 wellness screenings that were conducted this year at the District. Several hundred U.I.S.D. employees participated in the screenings. Roberto Chapa, U.I.S.D. Risk Management
Director said that the screenings provide employees with an easy and convenient way to obtain a current health profile which can then be reviewed by a family physician. Michelle Silva, Blue Cross Blue Shield Wellness Coordinator, added that wellness screenings alert employees to health risks that can be reduced or eliminated through simple lifestyle and/or changes in diet. “We are pleased to see how this program has encouraged U.I.S.D. employees to become proactive in their healthcare”, she concluded.
