Patton Leads the Sox to Win Over Lemurs

Amarillo, TX – Amarillo Sox (40-30) outfielder Cory Patton went three for five with two home runs, a double, and eight RBI’s, to lead his team to a 12-5 victory over the Laredo Lemurs (39-34) Saturday night at Amarillo National Bank Sox Stadium.
Patton’s grand slam came at a key point in the game. With the Lemurs up 4-2 in the bottom of the third, Patton connected and drove the bases loaded home run over the right center field wall to give the Sox a 6-4 lead that would hold up for the rest of the night.
The Lemurs would put up one more run as Stephen Douglas homered for the first time coming back to Laredo, to make it 6-5 Sox.
Sox starting pitcher Jason Johnson picked up the win going five, giving up five runs, on eight hits, with one walk, and two strikeouts.
Lemurs starter Kyle Wilson would take the loss, going six, giving up 12 runs, on 14 hits, with five walks, and a strikeout.
The Lemurs will play the Sox in the final game of the series tomorrow night at 6pm Central Time. The Lemurs will send Greg Wilborn (4-1) to the mound to face Sox starter Brad Wilson (1-1).
The Lemurs will be home on Monday night to face the El Paso Diablos at 7:30pm Central Time.
