Lemurs Win with a Walk-Off Walk

Laredo, TX – The Laredo Lemurs (46-41) load the bases in the 10th with the game winning run coming across home plate after a four pitch walk to Brian Peterson to give them a 7-6 win over the Sioux City Explorers (31-56) Tuesday night at Uni-Trade Stadium.
With the game tied at six the Lemurs came to the plate in the bottom of the tenth with a new pitcher John Holdzkom on the mound for the Explorers.
The first batter of the tenth, Stephen Douglas came to the plate reached on an error by the shortstop to lead off the frame. The next batter, Harrison Kain would be hit by a pitch to put runners at first and second.
Mike Provencher struck out for the first out of the tenth and that would be followed by Garrett Rau popping out to first for the second out of the inning.
Jimmy Mojica would then come to the plate and on a 0-2 pitch; Mojica would be hit by a pitch to load the bases with two outs. Brian Peterson then walked on four pitches to give the Lemurs the 7-6 walk in win.
Seth Lintz (1-1) earned the win for the Lemurs working in relief in the top of the tenth to kill a bases loaded rally by the Explores with a 1-2-3 double play ball.
John Holdzkom (2-4) takes the loss the loading the bases and walking in the winning run. He went two thirds, giving up one run, with one walk, and one strikeout, while hitting two Lemur batters.
