Diablos Slip by Lemurs

Laredo, TX – El Paso Diablos left fielder Oscar Mesa hit a three run home run in the top of the third to lead his team to a 6-4 win over the Laredo Lemurs Tuesday night at Uni-Trade Stadium.

The Lemurs picked up three runs in the first with Stephen Douglas reaching on a walk with two outs.  That was followed by a John Alonso single, and a Balbino Fuenmayor double that drove in two runs.  During the play the Diablos attempted to get Alonso out at the plate, but the throw went wild allowing Fuenmayor to take third.  The throw from the catcher to third was off line and went up the left field line for an error that allowed Fuenmayor to score giving the Lemurs a 3-1 lead.

The Lemurs lead wouldn’t last long with the Diablos putting up two runs in the second to make it 4-3 Lemurs.  They would then see Oscar Mesa hit his three run home run to pull ahead 6-4.

Lemurs’ starter Seth Lintz took the loss going five and two thirds, giving up six runs, on 12 hits, with two walks, and five strikeouts.

Santo Hernandez grabbed the win for the Dialbos, going five and two thirds, giving up four runs, on five hits, with three walks, and seven strikeouts.
