Sox Pitching Downs Lemurs

Laredo, TX – Strong pitching and timely hitting put the Amarillo Sox (36-30) on top of the Laredo Lemurs (35-28) 6-2 on Friday night at Uni-Trade Stadium.
Sox starting pitcher Ryan Mitchell (7-3) was dominate against the Lemurs, going eight and a third, his longest outing of the year, giving up two runs, on six hits, with two walks, and a season high 11 strikeouts. Mitchell is now 2-0 against the Lemurs this season.
The Amarillo Sox got on the board in the first inning with a run. They would scattered five more runs over the next eight innings for a total of six on the night. Five batters in the Sox lineup had two hits, with Chris Grossman leading the way with a two for four night and two RBI’s.
The Lemurs were led by Danny Poma who picked up two hits in four at bats.
Jake Cowan (1-3) takes the loss for the Lemurs after throwing three and two thirds, giving up two runs, six hits, with two walks.
