On Sunday June 30th police officers were dispatched to a residence on Arguello Drive. Upon arrival officers made contact with a witness who stated that the occupants of 4210 Arguello Drive were arguing outside their residence. It was further stated that soon after the couple went inside their residence, several gun shots were heard coming from the residence.
Officers attempted to make contact with the residents of that house after several minutes officers observed someone peeking through the blinds on the southeast window to residence. The officers yelled several commands to open the door. The officers observed in plain view several spent gun casings outside a sliding door area. The subject still peeking through the window blinds appeared to be a male subject and would not open the door or answer back to the officers. Several more attempts were made to make contact in which a female subject opened the door to the residence.
The female was identified and she was asked who else was inside her residence she stated that her husband was also in the home. Officers due to the exigent circumstances and for concern over someone being hurt inside immediately proceeded into the home and located one male subject identified as Jesus Eusebio Jimenez Rivera and detained him immediately for officer safety. The woman appeared to have a slap mark to her right cheek area. The woman stated that she had gotten into a dispute with her husband but that he never hurt or struck her.
Furthermore the woman stated that she did hear several gunshots outside her residence and that she immediately went outside and saw her husband outside. During the investigation the officers observed several rolled up U.S. Currency bundles inside various containers throughout the home. Officers proceeded to place Jesus Eusebio Jimenez Rivera under arrest for Assault C/A Family Violence. The LPD Narcotics and Vice Team along with I.C.E. agents would be taking over the other elements of the investigation. A total of $609,567.00 in U.S. currency and a 9 mm Taurus semi-automatic handgun were recovered. Jesus Eusebio Jimenez Rivera, a Mexican national living in the U.S. illegally, was turned over to Federal authorities and charged with alien in possession of a firearm.
