Carroll’s Contract Sold to Diamondbacks

LAREDO, TX – Laredo Lemurs outfielder Sawyer Carroll has been acquired by the Arizona Diamondbacks and will head to their Double-A affiliate in Mobile, Alabama. With the Lemurs, Carroll picked up 68 hits in 219 at bats to produce a .310 batting average, with 21 doubles, and 41 RBI’s in 59 games of the 2013 season.
Carroll earned Hitter of the Week honors in the American Association in the second week of June. That week he went 15 for 33 with a .454 average, scoring 7 runs, with 3 doubles, a triple, a home run, and 11 RBI’s.
The Arizona Diamondbacks have now picked up four Laredo Lemurs players over the last year. After the 2012 season the Diamondbacks acquired Lemurs left handed starter Matt Way and right handed relief pitcher Chaz Roe. Earlier this season Arizona picked up Lemurs right handed pitcher Mark Serrano, who is currently in Double-A Mobile.
