300lb Pot Load Found after Car Chase

(Laredo, Tx)-On Thursday, June 13, 2013, a police officer initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle, a 1997 Buick LeSabre, that had disregarded a stop sign on Fasken Blvd. The vehicle had been traveling north on Fasken. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop after the officer positioned her patrol car with lights and siren behind it. The male driver continued north to Mines Road, then made a u-turn and traveled south on Fasken once again.
The vehicle sped up and continued southbound until it reached the riverbanks. Once there, the driver made his way into the river bank and swam across into Mexico.
The officer made her way to the suspect’s vehicle and discovered five bundles of marijuana inside. The marijuana was seized and later found to have a total weight of 307. No arrests were made.
