Newest City of Laredo landmark, champions, to be featured on the cover
(Laredo, TX ) The iconic white tower reaching towards the sky and Laredo’s latest championship team are iconic images by themselves, but this year, Uni-Trade Stadium and your Laredo Lemurs are gracing the covers of the 2013 Yellow Pages phone book. The new Laredo YP Real Yellow Pagessm features Laredo’s newest landmark and champions on the front and back cover this year as the directory contains listings in both English and Spanish.
“YP Advertising Solutions is excited about being able to feature the latest addition to the Laredo landscape, Uni-Trade Stadium, on the cover of our latest directory edition,” said Roland Rodriguez, regional brand manager for YP Advertising. “In addition, we also feel honored to be able to feature Uni-Trade’s main tenant, the Laredo Lemurs, as well. In featuring both on the covers, YP feels we hit a ‘grand slam’ within the Laredo community.”
Nearly 80,000 copies of the directory have been produced for distribution in Laredo this year. Delivery is underway and continues through June 28. The directory will also be available to new residents and businesses throughout the year.
“Uni-Trade Stadium, with its Spanish colonial revival architectural style, reminiscent of so many buildings in downtown Laredo, as well as the iconic white tower, a replica of the tower located on International Bridge #1 that survived the Laredo flood of 1954, makes this new building a unique Laredo landmark,” said City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas. “We are absolutely proud that Uni-Trade Stadium and our own champion Laredo Lemurs are on the cover of this great directory, the Real Yellow Pages, which is such a great resource of information for residents and businesses alike.”
Fans of the Lemurs will be able to find the coupons for Lemurs games in the directory, including buy one, get one offers. A full schedule of the Lemurs season is also featured in the directory, as well as a schedule of activities at Uni-Trade Stadium for the coming year.
The Lemurs are coming off their inaugural season which saw the Lemurs win the Southern Division in dramatic fashion finishing 23-8 over the last month of the season. The Lemurs went on to lose in the first round of the playoffs to Central Division champions Wichita Wingnuts. The Wingnuts lost to the eventual League Champions Winnipeg Goldeyes. Season tickets, suite rentals, and group packages are on sale now. For more information, call the Lemurs’ office at 956-7LEMURS or visit the Lemurs’ official website at www.laredolemurs.com.
Uni-Trade Stadium, which is featured on the back cover of the Yellow Pages, is designed to accommodate professional baseball dimensions with a stadium capacity of 6,000 for baseball, grass berm and picnic tables throughout the 10-acre ballpark, including a, 11,000 square foot kids’ play area.
Aside from professional baseball, the facility hosts high school and college regular season and play-off games and tournaments. Additionally, Uni-Trade Stadium is an entertainment venue itself, hosting concerts and other outdoor events, such as professional boxing, mixed martial arts competitions, car shows, as well as corporate picnics or even family reunions. The permanent concert stage, located above the centerfield wall, will bring the stadium capacity to over 16,000 for concerts and non-baseball events.
“We are so excited to have been given this opportunity to be on the cover,” stated Mark Schuster, CEO of the Lemurs. “Besides the obvious benefit of being on the cover of 80,000 copies, being associated with such an identifiable brand makes this a home run for us.”
