Accident on San Bernardo Injures Homeless Man

(LAREDO, TX)-ON MONDAY MARCH 18, 2013 AT 8:38 P.M. A MAROON 2006 JEEP COMMANDER, WHICH WAS TRAVELING NORTH ON THE 3400 BLOCK OF SAN BERNARDO WHEN THE DRIVER STRUCK A PEDESTRIAN IDENTIFIED AS A HOMELESS MAN, MICHAEL A. MULDIN AGE 32, WHO WAS STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET ATTEMPTING TO CROSS SAN BERNARDO AVE. FROM EAST TO WEST. AFTER STRIKING THE PEDESTRIAN THE DRIVER OF THE JEEP IMMEDIATELY EXITED THE VEHICLE AND RENDERED AID TO THE PEDESTRIAN WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DIAL 911. ANOTHER VEHICLE STOPPED AT THE ACCIDENT SCENE AND ALSO DIALED 911 WHILE ASSISTING THE DRIVER OF THE JEEP. THE PEDESTRIAN WAS TRANSPORTED TO LAREDO MEDICAL CENTER WHERE HE WAS TREATED FOR A BROKEN NOSE. DUE TO THE UNCERTAINTY OF THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE INJURIES TO THE PEDESTRIAN THE LPD CRASH TEAM CONDUCTED THE INVESTIGATION OF THE CASE WHICH REMAINS OPEN.
